Three Winners Take Top Honors

The Rook, MSUB’s premier arts and literature journal for over a decade, recently announced the addition of Editor’s Choice honors in their newest edition. Honors were awarded in three categories: poetry, prose/academic literature, and visual art. Emily Harris won Editor’s Choice for poetry with her poem Shakespeer: A predicament. Winning Editor’s Choice for prose/academic literature was Response to a Poetic Reading from Walden, by Coul Hill. Winning both honors and the cover of The Rook was Nate Petterson’s photo Timberline in Spring.

This issue makes a landmark year for The Rook, featuring the first ever full color issue, a brand new fully featured The Rook web page, and distribution through Amazon.com. Copies will be available for free to students beginning in October throughout campus as well as during the High Plains Bookfest, at Montana Slam, and in the English department office on the fourth floor of the liberal arts building.

The Rook is currently accepting submissions for their next issue. To submit visual art, prose, poetry or academic literature go to The Rook's website.
